NEP VS USA TEAM PREVIEWS
NEPAL
Nepal expectedly lost their opening fixture of the tournament where they faced the hosts Zimbabwe. However, they will be looking to take the positives from that match.
The opening pair of Kushal Bhurtel and Aasif Sheikh was excellent in that game. They put up a brilliant show against a relatively strong Zimbabwe bowling attack and put up 171 runs for the opening wicket. Bhurtel was unlucky to depart on 99, while Sheikh followed him soon after, scoring 66 runs.
Kushal Malla and Rohit Paudel stitched another good partnership and at one stage, Nepal looked set to cross the 300-run mark quite easily. However, the batsmen lower down struggled to get going and squandered away a good opportunity. The team will be looking for more runs from Bhim Sharki, Gulsan Jha, and Aarif Sheikh. The bowling was a big letdown for the visitors and there is plenty of scope for improvement there.
Seamers Sompal Kami and Gulsan Jha were the only two who were able to pick wickets, while the other bowlers struggled to bowl a good line and length. Sandeep Lamichhane, who is Nepal’s prime spinner, was wicketless and went for close to 8 runs an over.
Similarly, Karan KC and Dipendra Singh Airee weren’t able to cause much trouble for the opposition.

USA
USA had a good run in the Qualifier Playoffs, where they finished at the top of the points table. However, their campaign here wasn’t off to the best of starts as they lost their opening fixture, played against the West Indier.
Steven Taylor and Sushant Modani will once again open the batting here for the USA.
Both got a decent start in the last match but were unable to capitalize on that. The team will expect skipper Monank Patel and Saiteja Mukkamalla to play better here and stabilize the innings during the middle overs. Gajanand Singh scored a brilliant century under pressure in the last match and was well-supported by Shayan Jahangir.
The bowlers will once again play an important role here. Kyle Phillip and Saurabh Netravalkar struck early blows in the match against West Indies in the last match and ended the match with 3 wickets each. Steven Taylor was a bit expensive but he too picked up 3 wickets, while left-armer Nosthush Kenjige was very economical.
If the top order clicks here for the USA, they can cause a lot of trouble for Nepal here.
